Welcome to the February Newsletter!

February is rich with opportunities for meaningful moments, warm connections, and collective growth. With winter still upon us, it’s the perfect time to emphasize kindness, community, and strengthening the vital relationships that support our children and families.

This month serves as a beautiful reminder that there are numerous ways of demonstrating love, like being patient, giving hugs, smiling, and expressing thanks. Children have the ideal opportunity to practice social skills like empathy, companionship, and healthy emotional expression this month. As winter continues, we urge families to put their health and well-being first. Keeping up daily routines that encourage relaxation, clothing warmly, and washing our hands properly are all crucial little habits that have a significant impact on keeping our kids safe and well.

Furthermore, the use of free play and free movement will be an important component of our curriculum. It is crucial to understand that young infants pick up social signs, behaviors, and lessons demonstrated for them at a surprising rate, much like a sponge absorbing water. Free play is essential to a child’s overall development and goes beyond simple leisure time. Children learn sharing during unstructured, child-led play. Sharing is a sophisticated social skill that goes beyond just passing a toy; it requires patience, empathy, and an awareness of turn-taking.

By giving these activities top priority this month, we hope to take advantage of kids’ natural ability to pick things up quickly and lay the social-emotional groundwork that will benefit them throughout their growth.

We extend our deepest gratitude to our dedicated families, providers, and staff. Your partnership, trust, and unwavering commitment are invaluable as you help our children learn, grow, and succeed every day.

Wishing you all a February filled with joyful moments, valuable learning, and an abundance of love.
