Hello Summer

As we embrace the warmth of July, let’s make the most of the sunny days and create enriching experiences for our children. Summer offers a unique opportunity for exploration and growth, both indoors and outdoors.

For our families, remember that everyday activities can be learning moments. Trips to the park can turn into nature lessons, with children observing insects, flowers, and the changing environment  Reading stories aloud on a picnic blanket fosters literacy and imagination. Encourage your little ones to ask questions and express their curiosity, these are the building blocks of lifelong learning.

Providers, let’s take advantage of the season to plan activities that keep children engaged and stimulated. Water play is not only refreshing but also a chance to learn about volume, flow, and temperature. Outdoor art projects, using natural materials like leaves and stones, can spark creativity and appreciation for nature. Don’t forget to incorporate plenty of physical activity to help children burn energy and develop motor skills.

Here are some ideas for both families and providers:

  • Visit a local farm or farmer’s market: Children can learn about where food comes from and try new fruits and vegetables.
  • Create a summer journal: Encourage children to draw pictures about their experiences and the things they look around them.
  • Explore different textures: Set up a sensory bin with sand, water beads, or dry pasta for children to explore with their hands.

Remember, by embracing curiosity and creating joyful experiences, we can make this July a time of growth and fun for all.

Warmly,
